Building Our Business Legacy
Innovations Hair Studio, Inc. started out as an idea in 1989. This idea developed into a small eight-person, salon-only business of approximately 900 square feet. We opened our doors August 15, 1990 at Post Road Plaza in Merrimack, NH. In 1996, the Post Road Plaza was sold and all of the businesses’ leases were terminated. We were told we had to find a new home. After a great deal of research and thought, the decision was made to make the long-term investment and purchase land to build our own facility. We would never have to worry about rent, leases, etc. ever again.
In 1997, we broke ground at our new location not far from the plaza. It was in a quiet residential area perfectly suited for our traditional New England-style building. Our new home was right here in the Merrimack community on Naticook Road, where our business still resides today.
The plan was for a significantly larger business that would support 18–20 stylists and, as a key addition to our business plan, a full-service day spa that would soon become an award-winning part of our business. The increase in building size, services, staff, and clients was a significant challenge to all of us during the first few years. However, our focus and determination was demonstrated continually through staff and ownership alike. We stuck to our original plan of two basic guiding principles and to this day they have not changed.

1. The community with high-quality, value-conscious services, with an emphasis on a benchmark guest experience.
2. A community-respected and profitable workplace where employees are offered industry-leading tradecraft education and opportunities to succeed.
Through the successful delivery of our goals, the Innovations team has been named “Business of the Year, by the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce; recognized as the “Best Spa, 2002 through 2010″ as part of the Nashua Telegraph’s Reader’s Choice Award; awarded the “Torch Award, by the Better Business Bureau, and recognized by several magazines including Yankee and Day Spa. This degree of recognition is uncommon in most businesses, let alone in this industry. We are very proud of our efforts to serve our guests and exceed their expectations each and every day.
